Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
This policy explains what data the Meetio app (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Android) processes, why, and what your rights are. Data controller: Luca Botturi, reachable at support@veleno.studio.
Using Meetio without an account
You can use Meetio without creating an account. Your events then stay on your device only and we receive no data.
Data we process if you create an account
- Account data: email address, password (handled by Firebase Authentication — we never see it in plain text), display name and, if you add one, a profile photo.
- Content you create: events (title, description, date, tags, importance), groups (name, icon, members, pending invitations, invite code) and the people or groups you share an event with.
- Push notifications: a device identifier for notifications, the app's language and the device's time zone, so we can tell you when an event is shared with you, moved or cancelled, in your language and at your local time. They are deleted when you sign out or delete your account.
- Technical data: identifiers and tokens needed for sign-in and security, and the technical logs Google keeps to run Firebase.
Reminders at the event's time and the Apple Watch sync run locally on your devices.
Who can see your data
- Your name and profile photo are visible to the users you share events or groups with.
- Your email is never shown to other users: someone can only find your account if they already know your exact address.
- An event is visible only to you, to the people you share it with and to the members of the groups it belongs to.
Why we process it
We use your data only to provide the service you ask for (creating your account, syncing and sharing your events) and to keep it secure. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for security, legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Meetio shows no ads, uses no analytics or tracking tools, does not profile users and never sells or hands over data to third parties.
Service providers and storage location
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging and Hosting) as our data processor. The database holding your events and groups is located in the European Union. Firebase Authentication may process some data outside the EU; in that case Google applies the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses.
The app is purchased through the App Store or Google Play, which handle payment data under their own policies: we never receive your payment details.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account we erase your profile, email, events and the groups you created, and remove you from groups, pending group invitations and events shared with you. Any technical backup copies held by Google are deleted on the provider's schedule.
You can delete your account at any time: see Account deletion.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, or object to its processing, by writing to support@veleno.studio. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
Minimum age
You must be at least 14 years old to create an account.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
